Hurricanes Look to Tame Bears in Week 3

Monday, August 20, 2012-- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hamilton Hurricanes-

The Hamilton Hurricanes were able to even their 2012 OFC record with a clutch 31-29 win over the visiting Ottawa Sooners this past Saturday afternoon.

The loss for the Sooners was the second heartbreaking loss in as many weeks. The Sooners have kept both of their past two games close and have only lost by a combined three points.

The win is a huge morale booster for the defending OFC champions.

After suffering their first loss at the hands of their Skyway Rivals, the Burlington Braves, the win against the Sooners could not have come at a better time. The Hurricanes will take the momentum into their week three match-up when they host the 0-2 Brampton Bears and look to move one game ahead of .500.

Even though the Bears have not won a contest in the eighteen games they have played since their inaugural season, the Hurricanes will not take their week three opponent lightly. The Canes will prepare the same as they always do during the week of practice and they will not look ahead on the schedule to their next opponent until they have played the full sixty minutes of football this coming Saturday.

Coach Hayes and his coaching staff continue to run a disciplined football program and expect the best from their players week in and week out. This coaching philosophy has not changed and is the reason why the Hamilton Hurricanes are back-to-back Ontario Football Conference champions.

The Hamilton Hurricanes will look to improve their season record to 2-1 when they host the visiting Brampton Bears on Saturday, August 25th. Kickoff will be at 4pm at Ivor Wynne Stadium.
