(Hamilton) – The Hamilton Hurricanes mourn the passing of Don Edwards, 59, and his son Spencer, 18. Both men were lost in a tragic car accident on October 31st.

The Hamilton Hurricanes Football Club, along with the greater football community in Hamilton and Ontario lost a true legend in the amateur football ranks. Don did it all when it came to the gridiron game, both on and off the field.

Mike Samuel, President of the Hamilton Hurricanes, reflected on who Don was, ‘Don WAS football. He was a colour commentator for our Canes games, coached, mentored and was an ear to listen to any football situation. Don and Spencer will truly be missed, and his wife and daughter are in our thoughts and prayers.’

Our condolences go out the Edwards family, friends and all of those affected by this tragedy.
